The Role

VIKTech is seeking a Senior Principal Cyber Systems Engineer to support mission-critical operations in Tampa, FL. This is an on-site position due to the classified nature of the work—remote or telecommuting options are not available.

You will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise-level cyber solutions that ensure security, performance, and reliability across multiple environments.

What You’ll Do

• Engineer enterprise solutions that align with best practices to support mission objectives.

• Participate in design sessions and regular project status meetings.

• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to resolve technical challenges.

• Manage 1–3 mid- to large-scale projects concurrently.

• Provide clear communication across stakeholders, end users, and leadership.

• Research and recommend COTS technologies to integrate with existing infrastructure.

• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree + 6 years of experience, OR Bachelor’s degree + 8 years, OR Associate’s + 10 years, OR High School + 12 years of IT experience.

• U.S. Citizenship.

• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance.

• Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II or higher (e.g., Security+ CE).

• Strong experience with:

  • Designing, deploying, and managing virtualized environments.

  • Automation using scripting or orchestration tools.

  • Windows enterprise architecture (AD, DHCP, DNS, GPOs, Exchange, SQL, MECM, WSUS).

  • Linux environments (RHEL, Satellite Server, Ansible).

  • NetApp (or similar) for storage provisioning, backup, and recovery.

  • Cisco and/or VMware NSX technologies, routing, firewalls, and network micro-segmentation.

  • Creating technical documentation and Visio diagrams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo).

• Virtual Desktop Environment technologies (Horizon, Dell Wyse, Teradici).

• Monitoring tools (ELK, SolarWinds, VMware Aria).

• Backup and recovery tools (VEEAM).

• Security hardening and role-based access control.

• Scripting proficiency in PowerShell, Python, Bash, or YAML (via Ansible).
